Love, love, love them. Love them. Some of the best comfort Mex American foods I've had in awhile and I mean that. Love's in the food, you can taste it. Like when mom makes the same thing using the same ingredients and some how, hers always tastes better ...like that.

Everything was perfecto. Always tickled with salsa bars, so much fun trying all the salsas and complements, flavorful bits and bites. Made up a nice little impromptu taco salad with the chips.

Salsa's were all very interesting and enjoyable. OMG that tamale. Oh so tender and crumbly. Pastor tacos as well the chorizo one warmed my soul and fed this worn out weary traveler from hiking Big Tree all day.

      Thank you so much!!!

Update: 9/20/18-different person cooking now after restaurant reopened. Food was mediocre, nachos were microwaved and chewy, burrito was fine. We haven't been back since. :-/ Bummer.

Amazing food, excellent customer service, cute location. It is nice to finally have delicious taqueria food not off a truck. Will be making this a favorite place to eat.

Update 9/28/18 they have since reopened and the "partner" is running it. Half the menu was redacted as the new cooks we're learning still. Ordered the super nachos and there is nothing super about the microwaved mess I got, they microwaved the nachos in the styrofoam container causing it to melt, so half the nachos we're inedible. I should have known when the cook said I can't remember how to make the nachos. Lost us forever. Too disgusting to return

Dropped by not expecting much, was blown away with the authentic Mexican food. Their Chile Poblano was excellent, just a hint of spicy and a very special sauce.

Being a vegetarian, the owner adjusted and made me a Tostada with fajita veggies, that was excellent too.

Outdoor seating is very basic, but food was great.

This place is truly incredible! Authentic and the menu and flavor profiles that can't be beat! (My favorite is the chili rellenos truth be told...)

It's got tables; but honestly it's not an eat-in place. It's a stand-alone outfit in the parking lot of the Shell station on Hwy 4 in Murphys and it's not glamorous. But. Place your order, grab a tray of chips (free) out of their warmer and enjoy their salsa bar while you wait for your to-go order. The home-made horchata is phenomenal. It's like your best taco truck; but brick and mortar! Hard working, friendly folks behind the counter.

Stop in, order up, get your gas (and groceries across the street if you need them) and head out to your favorite picnic area to enjoy.

      Thanks Taqueria Murphys!

This place hits the spot in all the right ways. The flavors were all authentic and the value was clear. Our group ordered a huge cross section of the menu to go. While eating we all kept commenting on how good and satisfying our meal was from there. If you're in gold country, definitely make a pit stop here for Mexican food.

This place seems to have changed ownership. It used to be run by a very nice Mexican couple who took great pride in the food.

Recently it has gone way downhill. New owners / staff are unpleasant, and the food is below mediocre. Although there is very limited seating inside, they frequently use one of the front tables as a babysitting area for their noisy kids.

Not worth a visit any more for me.

Was a really great hole in the wall until the owner got rid of the awesome original people working there. Now the cooks look like meth heads and everything I ordered was burnt. Rice beans meat etc. no good.

Different person cooking, not so good. Had a carnitas tosada which was pretty good but the beans and rice were pretty poor. The younger woman at the counter was nice and personable. My companion had the carnitas tacos which were very good but he had the same complaints about the beans and rice. Just order a la carte if there is a woman cooking.

Excellent food, great service. Their salsa is also excellent. Better than all the Taco Truck nearby. Give them a try.
