Vaccines: Which ones do you need for travel?
TicoVac™ (TBE) vaccine is available for adults
Travelers to over 30 countries including parts of Western Europe may be at risk of acquiring Tick Borne Encephalitis (TBE) if activities lead to exposure to ticks. TicoVac is a vaccine for TBE that is now available for adults (a pediatric version is expected in late 2022- early 2023). The risk of acquiring TBE is low for most travelers especially in urban areas. Using insect repellents and other tick avoidance measures is important for all travelers participating in outdoor activities in risk areas. NOTE-TBE is not a risk in the US and the vaccine does not protect against Lyme disease and other tick borne diseases found in the US. Learn more about TBE at https://www.cdc.gov/
