Where the Monchique mountains meet the Atlantic ocean, amongst the Algarve's orange groves and olive orchards, appears Morgado do Quintão, a family-owned vineyard estate.

THE ESTATE

Wildly surrounded by the pastoral verdure of the Algarvian Barrocal, Morgado do Quintão was founded in the early 1800s by the Count of Silves, and still remains in the same family, one whose unerring and resilient passion for the land, food, adventure and entertaining merges with a love of local heritage, beauty and conservation.

Championing winemaking in the Algarve, ours is a bid to reclaim the soil in the land that wine forgot.

WINE

With a profound commitment to disrupting the status quo and to bringing winemaking back to its forgotten roots in our region, today’s generation at Morgado do Quintão are attempting to mould a new perspective on Algarvian wine, seizing an opportunity to nurture the land on which vines first arrived on the Iberian Peninsula.

The table is at the heart of many a Algarvian family, a pinnacle of daily life that inspires joy, passion, and debate over what, how much and who gets what.

THE FARMER’S TABLE

Our Farmer’s Table is where we share our family’s real-food philosophy, paired with a wine flight from the estate. We look to our local community for ingredients, bringing their stories to our plates along with our own; stories of our region’s unique biodynamic bounty, transformed traditions passed down through generations, into slow food for our communal table.

At our vineyard cottages, we invite those who stay with us to feel a part of our history and to make their own memories amongst ours.

VINEYARD COTTAGES

Our family’s old houses and caretaker’s lodgings have been revived and renovated by us to relive as quiet, countryside retreats. Rooted in our memories growing up on the estate, we embrace the beauty of their simplicity, some filled with artwork from our family collection, others with contemporary curiosities, objects and furniture passed to us by our ancestors.
